The MINI is manufactured at BMW Group Plant Oxford, the only car production plant responsible for the
production of the MINI.
In 1994 the BMW Group acquired the Oxford plant, then completely modernised the facilities in
2000 and 2001 in preparation for production of the new MINI
The BMW MINI went on sale in the UK in July 2001
In April 2007 when the one millionth MINI rolled off the production line.
BMW MINI is now sold in over 70 countries worldwide.
The UK, USA, Germany, Italy and Japan make up the car’s top five markets.
The MINI paintshop was the UK's second biggest construction project (after the Millennium Dome) in 1996/97 and cost £80 million
