Glossary of mini terms, abbreviations and acronyms

• Ackerman angle - Term used to describe steering geometry that causes the inside front wheel to turn "tighter" than the outside front wheel.
• AI - Aldon Ignitor (a type of replacement Dizzy)
• Alto - Alternator
• BINI - BMW MINI
• Diff - Differential
• Dizzy - Distributor
• DOHC - Direct/Dual overhead cam
• Dyno - Dynamometer (Not a dynamo, it's an engine test bed)
• ECU - Electronic (or Engine) Control Unit
• HTMYM - "How To Modify Your Mini" by David Vizard (God)
• KYMA - "Keeping Your Mini Alive", Mini Magazine publication
• LCB - Long Centre Branch (exhaust manifold)
• LSD - Limited Slip Diff
• Mowog (MoWoG) - Morris Wolseley Garages (also the name of the 800lb gorilla who tightened the flywheel bolts at BL!!)
• OPRV - Oil Pressure Relief Valve
• PDWA - Pressure Differential Warning Actuator (built into some brake master cylinders)
• PRV - Pressure reducing valve (the 2in/2out brake system thing on the bulkhead)
• Rad - Radiator
• RR - Rolling Road
• RTFM - "Read the f***ing manual"
• SOHC - Single OverHead Cam
• TBASE - "Tuning BL's A Series Engine" (the Bible) by David Vizard (God)
• X-drill - Cross-drilled crank/discs
